Weekly Photo Challenge: Resolved

It’s the Call of the Wild

image

I bought these jeans over the summer when they could fit. Yes; the fit may have been a little snug, but never the less, they could fit. I wouldn’t dare try to squeeze myself into them now. The results could lead to a minor case of depression, and I would rather not take on self-loathing for the beginning of the new year. I realize that I have to do something about this current state of mine. But, I’d rather not say I’ll make a resolution to lose weight; I’d like to say that this is a life change to be healthier. Why you might ask? Well, because for me, resolutions are rarely resolved. But my leopard prints keep calling me. Every time I enter my closet, I hear the gentle purr beckoning me to wear them with some killer heels and a sexy top, or to go preppy by pairing them with some cool flats and a sweater over a button down shirt. Oh, I can see it now. I must answer the call of the wild. I must wear these jeans, soon.

I’m glad I ran

This morning I was on a natural high as I laced up my sneaks and made my way out the door for a long needed run. It’s something about the fresh air as it caresses your face and the scenery of fall leaves gracefully dancing in the wind as they make their annual journey to the Earth’s floor. My walk eventually became an enthusiastic run as The Wanted‘s I’m glad you came started booming in my ears… And I was off, discovering that as my pace increased so did the nature of my mood.

My letter featured on Peach Bytes

Okay, so I have not mentioned it until today, but I am running in the Peachtree Road Race. This will be my fifth year running and I was really siked about doing the race with two of my best friends. Unfortunately, because it’s a lottery selection that chooses the participants, I was chosen this year but my friends were not. I was a little bummed, and so were they. But, there was an opportunity to write about your Peachtree experience and then submit it to the Atlanta Track Club. Well, I did just that, because if you haven’t noticed by now; I love to write. Well to my surprise, as I opened my email today and read the latest Peach Byte message, there it was. My letter was featured.

Salad, Salad and Away…

image

I’ve been feeling like Supergirl lately after all the salad that I’ve been eating. After just two weeks of substituting either my lunch or dinner for a salad, away goes the pounds. I’ve managed to drop 4.8 lbs to be exact. It was so exhilarating to see my waistline shrink a bit and to feel the extra room in my clothing. So now I’m enthusiastic about finding more salad ideas to incorporate into my diet.

Yummy in my Tummy

As my adorable nephew always says as he enjoys a treat to his liking; “Yummy in my tummy,” with his cute little voice that’s like music to my ears. Well, I found myself saying the same thing as I delighted in making a few healthy meals for myself this past week. Earlier in the week I had a wonderful idea to make an antipasto pasta salad. It was my first attempt in making one, but I figured it couldn’t be too difficult. The major challenge for me would be to acquire the taste that I desired. Luckily my recipe turned out well, and my salad was very enjoyable.

Spinach and Pasta Delight

Today I stepped out of the box and actually cooked for myself. I’ve decided that I’m going to put forth as much effort as possible to not eat out, or get my dinner from fast-food restaurants. I made a delicious salad tonight that I must say was appealing to both my senses of sight and taste. I’m sure that I’m not the first to combine the following ingredients together, however, it was an original recipe for me; and one that I can say I’m very proud of.

My spinach and pasta delight:
