Star Style…Rhianna T

Combine a Rhianna t-shirt with a cute denim mini, leopard and leather jacket, red clutch, and black platforms and you’ve got a hit. Rhianna is another songstress whose style is killer. I was happy I found this t, and I plan on replicating this outfit in the near future. Thanks to Polyvore, I was able to put this look together. Now it’s time to take it from the screen and actually onto me. I’m eager to see how it will turn out. Anyway, enjoy your Tuesday.

Is 4 percent enough?

One of several versions of the painting "...

One of several versions of the painting “The Scream”. The National Gallery, Oslo, Norway. (Photo credit: Wikipedia)

I feel like the person in the Scream painting. You know the one by Edvard Munch, where the disturbed, ghostly figure of a man is centered within a nightmarish atmosphere among a morbid background. How daunting. How disturbing. How hopeless. To me that’s what the painting conveys; but I’m no art expert, so take my criticism with a grain of salt. Anyway, that was the vision that came to my mind when I read an article stating that only 4% of your annual salary (post-taxes) is supposed to be designated toward your wardrobe.

REALLY!?!

4percent

Get The Look…Rita Ora

Today’s t-shirt look is inspired by Rita Ora. I love her style. This is definitely a laid back look that I would sport on a casual day. Take a basic black t-shirt with black jeans and sneakers, and add some cool aviator shades for a laid back rocker ensemble. Now the shirt that I have chosen is not the actual t-shirt that Rita is wearing, but one that fits the bill. If you do want to know more about the artist/photographer responsible for the t, then check out Mari Sarai’s blog. Here’s a warning that the contents may not be acceptable to everyone, so if you’re under eighteen, ask your parents first :-).

Weekly Photo Challenge: Resolved

It’s the Call of the Wild

image

I bought these jeans over the summer when they could fit. Yes; the fit may have been a little snug, but never the less, they could fit. I wouldn’t dare try to squeeze myself into them now. The results could lead to a minor case of depression, and I would rather not take on self-loathing for the beginning of the new year. I realize that I have to do something about this current state of mine. But, I’d rather not say I’ll make a resolution to lose weight; I’d like to say that this is a life change to be healthier. Why you might ask? Well, because for me, resolutions are rarely resolved. But my leopard prints keep calling me. Every time I enter my closet, I hear the gentle purr beckoning me to wear them with some killer heels and a sexy top, or to go preppy by pairing them with some cool flats and a sweater over a button down shirt. Oh, I can see it now. I must answer the call of the wild. I must wear these jeans, soon.

My Style Resolution

I’m sure there are a lot of New Year’s resolutions out there. I’m sure many people have chosen to lose weight or kick a bad habit. Maybe it’s to work less and spend more time with your family. Hey, I don’t knock it because I have some changes I’d like to make myself. But, on a light-hearted note, I’ve decided to make some resolutions to my personal style as well. I’m not too big on trends because trends come and go. I’m not saying there is anything wrong with adding a few trends to your wardrobe (because I do occasionally), but I’m more interested in a look that sticks around for the long haul. That’s where personal style comes in. My style? It may be hard to define, but I know it when I see it. I guess you could say there’s a lot of downtown edge with a little uptown sophistication. As long as I feel comfortable and relaxed, then it’s all good. At one time I only wore sneakers and jeans because that was very comfortable for me. But now, as my style has evolved, I can say that the tomboy in me is trying to embrace her inner vixen. So that leads me to my first resolution:

#1.Wear my heels more often
